Christianity has gotten a bad rap. This is mostly
from people who have abandoned their faith, and
accuse The Lord of abandoning them. The one thing
some people do Not understand is, when you
acknowledge God, you are saying that You are no
longer the center of the universe. Something is alive
inside you, it makes your heart beat each day, and
tells you the difference between right and wrong.
This is the Spirit of God. So how is it, that when
people come to the Lord, they still expect Him to bow
to their will? The Lord is Almighty, and He knows
best because He created us, He has absolute power,
not us. As it is said in 2 Corinthians 4:7 "we have
this treasure in jars of clay to remind us that this
all-surpassing power is from God and not from us."
But human beings want power above all else,
and so blame God for their poor choices. Some believe
that God created us but has more important things to
do than pay attention to us. If God were not paying
attention to you, even for one brief second, you
would fall down dead on the spot. Tell me what it is
that keeps us alive? Electrical impulses? Well, they
didnt come from nowhere. The Lord loves us and
watches over us constantly. He has carved our names
in the palm of His hand, He has promised never to
forget us. But we forget Him. We are distracted by
the world. We are distracted by the flesh, and we are
distracted by the Devil. The world tells us we
must be like them to be happy and survive. We must
dress like this or talk like that. We must blaspheme
to be accepted. And so we do. We want to be accepted. No one wants to be alone. Humans feel alone on this
earth, and there is no running from it. You have God
inside you, but there are still so many doubts. It is
hard to believe in something you cannot see. We can not see the wind, but we know it is there. We can not
see into the far reaches of the universe, but
scientists BELIEVE it is there, waiting to be seen
and learned from. The universe is infinite, as is
God's love for you. But we choose not to believe.
Before anyone starts blasting me for "not acting like a Christian", I would like to say that yes, I AM a Christian but I am NOT perfect. I try, and I pray to be better and love more. Sometimes I get really angry, or depressed, etc. I am not smiling 24/7. That is not a Christian. Just because I say I am a Christian does not make me perfect , and I know God understands that since He made me. I have to live in this world too, and I unfortunately am not immune to its influences. Just bear in mind this page is not meant to be a "Holier Than Thou" take on things.I just believe that Jesus will help you if you ask. But you gotta ask.
